IF THE MOON

If the Moon touched the Sun
It could be called a miracle
& If I found out that you weren't the one
I could become hysterical

If the Moon touched the Sun
It could be called a miracle
& If we follow what we have begun
We could become inseparable

& yet here I am alone on the shore
In anticipation waiting for more
This distance between us is haunting me
Can't you see?

If the land touched the sea
It could become impressive
& if you were closer to me
That's not to underestimate

& yet here I am alone on the shore
In anticipation waiting for more
This distance between us is hurting me
Can't you see?

Although there's only elements
That could combust to make some sense
I know the wind, the fire, the rain
Could take us back to the beginning again

& yet there's only secret parts
To cross & bind around our hearts
If we could bind our mystic forces
You couldn't hold me back with horses

If the Moon touched the Sun
It could be called a miracle
& if we follow what we have begun
We could become inseparable
Oh, if the moon touched the sun
It could be called a miracle
& if we follow what we have begun
We could become inseparable
If the Moon touched the Sun
If the Moon touched the Sun

& yet here I am alone on the shore
In anticipation waiting for more
This distance between us is hurting me
Can't you see?
Can't you see?
Can't you see?

The Moon and Sun are in love, however due to their respective roles they are only allowed a few brief moments of happiness and togetherness when an eclipse happens. Tragically these fleeting glimpses end as soon as the pull takes them back to their opposing positions at the beginning and end of each day. The Sun leaves it's reflection on the water at every sunset as if to let the Moon know she is not forgotten. But the sunlight on the water quickly disappears as the Moon takes over the night. leaving nothing but the reflection of moonbeams for the sun to see in the morning.
From time to time they can see each other as night crosses into day as a tantalizing reminder of each other's presence.
Until the next time...
